Last Week's Goals
Sorry I haven't been around lately. I've been programming my website as I mentioned before. I came to the conclusion a while ago that I need to complete this programming project for my website. The site already earns more money than it costs and I know it can do so much better. Although it may take many months to put all of the features into it that I've wanted for many years, I feel that the investment in time will be well worth the effort.
I will try to add the post each week as I've learned it is important to be here every week regardless of the amount of writing done. This can be a great reminder of what our primary goal is: to write. However, even when not writing, adding a post here is reminds us that we do want to write even we haven't had the opportunity.
My goals for next week:
Programming
I want to continue with this programming project.
What I need to learn this week
To keep on programming and get this project done so that I may return to writing.
FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS): Send two more queries out this week. Maybe. Nope.
BLOOD WILL TELL: Read some more about marketing. Sort of. I mean, there was some stuff about social media at WriteOnCon, but nothing specific. So, no, not really.
BLOOD IS THICKER: Let it rest. Another easy one.
MAGIC'S APPRENTICE: Nothing this week. And another.
THE BARD'S GIFT: Finish Chapter 20. Yes.
MAGE STORM: Nothing this week. Wow, anothr easy goal.
MAGIC'S FOOL/MAGIC'S APPRENTICE: I'm going to have some deep thinking to do about these two. From what I've just learned at WriteOnCon, I started my protagonist out at an age that just isn't going to work for the market. So I need to decide how to handle this. Making him younger would be very difficult. I could make him older, but that drives it into the younger end of YA. That'd be a rewrite and I'd probably need to add a subplot or two. These will be on the back burner until I figure it out.
FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS): Send out four queries.
BLOOD WILL TELL: Read some more about marketing.
BLOOD IS THICKER: Let it rest.
THE BARD'S GIFT: Chapters 21 and 22.
MAGE STORM: I got some great ideas for revisions to this one at WriteOnCon. I need to let the ideas simmer for just a little bit.

Shattuk Downs Rewrites: Rewrites are complete and I've done a proofing pass by throwing them into MS Word and using the spelling and grammar checker as well as some work on a few lingering issues.
Now those go on to First Readers
My goal this week is to work on Covers and Blurbs and decide what my next project will be. Likely the Sword of Spells novel.

Thank you. Hopefully I will continue to be around during this programming project, but I know very little, if any, writing will take place. This could likely be a several month project but I feel it's worth the effort.
