No William this week. Hope he's just on vacation.
quote:Welcome to this week's Novel Support Group (NSG). Anyone can join. If you're new, tell us a bit about who you are and what project you are working on. Feel free to update the NSG Work in Progress thread with your current projects. Although we can report on any number of things, here is a list of suggestions (suggestions welcomed).
What were your goals last week and did you accomplish them? Describe what you worked on. Set goals for next week. Did you learn something during this week?
Here is a list of things that you can do each week as we work on our novels (suggestions welcomed).

As for me:
Last Week's Goals:
MAGIC'S FOOL: Keep thinking about what changes I need to make to improve this story. Still thinking.
FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS): Three more queries out this week. Yes. And one rejection back already.
BLOOD WILL TELL: The hard part (for me)--marketing. Eh. Not really.
BLOOD IS THICKER: Let it rest. Easy one.
MAGIC'S APPRENTICE: Wait for feedback on opening. Another easy one.
THE BARD'S GIFT: I'll keep last week's goal. Make it through Chapter 7. Eh. Haven't touched it.
THE NULL PROPHET: Read through opening to make sure it's done. Yes. I made a few last changes, and now declare it done.
UNBORN: Revise 4-6 more chapters. Not so much. I got stuck completely rewriting a scene that had bothered me (still not finished).
NORTH: Let it rest. Easy.
OTHER: Work on website, but don't let it eat up all my writing time. Write 2 (test) blog posts. Sort of. I only wrote 1 blog post, and spent way too much time fiddling with format and settings and widgets.
Next Week:
THE NULL PROPHET: Two more queries out this week.
UNBORN: Finish writing new scene, revise 2 chapters.
NORTH: Let it rest.
OTHER: Resist the urge to tinker with website. Write a blog post, but only if it doesn't mess up my writing schedule.

Meredith, I am thrillede to see you still forging ahead! I've been away from writing for so long... Part of me really wants to pick it up again. Ida can't write her own story. Maybe one of these days I'll report a few words on the page.

Last Week: Completed first draft of my Second Shattuk Downs book (SD#2). 30,000 words
Next Week: Start the first draft of my Third Shattuk Downs book (SD#3). Try for 20,000 words. I'm having a bit of trouble where to start it.
Confirm if my first draft readers are through. (One might have fallen through) and then sketch out my first rewrite of SD#1 (partially done).
I'm probably going to self-publish these, and, if I do, I want them out close to each other. I hate to read the first book of a series and never see the next one or have to wait a year.
