Sounds unusual on the title alone---much like the Gor books. I only read one of 'em---"Liberated Women of Gor," or some such...

John Norman wrote a BUNCH of books in the series.

The first 3 books were actually pretty good, although very derivative of Burroughs Mars series. After that Norman got off on his domination of women kick and the writing went downhill.

I had stumbled across the parody of his work (titled Houseplants of Gor) and was reminded about my disappointment and anger at his nonsense. It inspired me (if that's the correct word) to write a brief poem about a strong woman's response to that BS.

There was a thing kicking around the media the other month about some people arrested in Britain for some kind of kidnapping or white slavery or whatever they're calling it, who were a splinter group of another group who had set up a religion based on the John Norman "Gor" books. I suppose it takes all kinds. (I only read the one because their, er, deviant-lifestyle reputation was already well-established by then.)

The Goreans are definitely one of the 'all kinds', that's for sure.

At least his weirdness has spawned a great parody. I have to wonder if he really believes that stuff or just makes too much money at it to quit,

Even the one I read I found unbelievable, insofar as its male-female relationships went...
