Just stumbled across this website:

Not quite sure what to think of it. It appears they are enlisting hopeful authors to weed through the slush piles in attempt to get more new talent recognized...

Anyone heard of this?

I had a look at some of the stuff on top of the slush--'editors desk'--and I think that they haven't yet got the quality they were looking for.

Harpers and Collins aren't going to publish stuff that isn't comercially viable (except POD).
