I see just the two sessions, one in Virginia one in Utah. No word on open enrollment, though.
I'm tempted to try for the Utah session. However, with me doing a full week in Oregon for the Kris Rusch and Dean Smith stuff, my ability to fund a second week-long writing class -- not to mention my using vacation days from work, which I will be trying to horde prior to the WOTF workshop -- will be terribly limited.
Maybe I can try for the two-day thingy? Hate to miss OSC when he will be so, so very close to home.

I'm going to give it a shot. I'll go to the two-day in Utah regardless. I think I'm going to fly out there and then road trip it back to LA, stopping wherever the whims of fancy take me, for a mini-vacation.

I would go to the week long in Utah, but cost and child are an issue. I would LOVE to meet OSC and "learn at the master's feet"! ;D Sadly, I live in N. Cali and don't know what I'd do with kidlette. Some day, maybe 2011?

I don't have the problem with kids, but cash flow is a problem for me this year, so we'll see.
Perhaps those with kids could band together and pay one nanny for the week? Or if somebody has an older kid, pay them to watch the rest. Just a thought.

I'd like to go, since geography has always been my excuse in the past. Better check the deadline again.
Heh. The dates for the Virgnia Boot camp would actually work better for me, and I wanted to drive out to Virginia anyway.
Hmm. They are asking for stories and it seems to be geared toward fiction. But I don't think non-fiction would be much good if it didn't tell a story. And it seems like a lot of stories want to create a world as tangible as though it were non-fiction.
Am I deluding myself? I guess I'll apply and find out.

It isn't geared towards fiction, from what I gather, it is solely about writing fiction. Writing a non-fictional story is reporting reality however eloquently written.

Has anyone heard back? I know the announcement deadline is May 7th but I wondered whether any notices get sent out early?

I'm not sure how many people go to the writing class, but if we have to wear name tags, I'll paste one on that's just a picture of an axe. That way people will either think I'm weird for having such a strange sticker on my chest, or people will recognize me from this forum and think I'm weird for having such a strange sticker on my chest.
Win - Win.

I will miss out on a Utah get together during the workshop and bootcamp since I will be at the SVU one...however, I will be at David Farlands Death Camp in November but I am thinking that St. George may be too far from the bulk of you guys to get together..seems like its closer to Vegas.
