Sexy people always survive in zombie movies...the gene must be linked with high survival skills. Ugliness must slow you down physically and mentally to the point you are easy zombie fodder.

Delilah crouched just low enough to avoid the zombie's swipe, then swung her katana in an upwards diagonal arc, severing the zombie's legs just above the knees. She caught a glimpse of her blood spatted face on the swinging blade and knew that nose job had been worth every penny.

What you do is to take all the really bad decisions in the list, and write your story around how someone could possibly survive the bad decisions.
Of course, since few of us are in the same physical condtion and training as our characters, write how you ACTUALLY would do in that situation.
The plump, bespeckled slob waddled down the road with a dozen zombies in the chase. Going to the hospital was a really bad idea. it was pure luck that his wife missed in her attack as he tried to convince her to follow him, in spite her in full zombie infection....... puffing hard, he looked at the claw hammer in his hand and wondered how he was going to get close enough to use it. The only reason he did not take the tire iron was it was too heavy...
we need to get our characters in trouble. Get them started at our personal physical level and you can get them into real trouble...

I saw only Resident Evil (second movie) and still got a Z+. Which is suppose to be good, right? I thought in America a good grade is an A.
