I was wondering, since I haven't seen anything from OSC that looks like a prequel to Ender's Game, other than short stories like Mazer in Prison, The Polish Boy and Teacher's Pest, did anyone write a prequel to Ender's Game?
I've started working on one. Of course, it won't be nearly as good, and it will take me years, but I wondered if anyone else is?

As you've mentioned, Card is still writing prequels to Ender's Game, like the stories presented with each new issue of IGMS. You could even consider his newest novel, Empire as a prequel to Ender's Game, at least in the sense that the events of the one book don't logically exclude the events of the other.
What Card hasn't done is put his work into the public domain. If you don't know what that means, then please look it up and make a real effort to understand it, because it's very important.

Thank you both. I understand that copyright is to be considered. If I would end up finishing it, I would definitely consider the law. It's not more about me writing the prequel, it's just that I wanted to do research so that I don't contradict the original books (I have read Ender's Game and the Shadow saga through and through...) Thanks a lot!

Welcome -- glad you are here -- but I'm afraid you do need to understand that anything written in the Ender's Game universe or using any of the characters would be a violation of copyright. And OSC does indeed protect his copyright -- one of those obligations being to make sure you understand that there are no rights available to you to write a prequel.
So, hey, come up with you own world and spend you time writing there
