I'm going to be resorting to a lurking status for the time being so I can get one of the three WIP's I have done. I have the one in mind, so I'm going to try to finish it for entry in the January WOTF quarterly contest.
If anyone needs me or whatnot, you can email me, but be sure to put Hatrack in the subject line.
I thank each and everyone of you for your constructive and helpful critisism.
I'll post from time to time to give updates on my WIP. (As of now, it has almost 6400 words) Also, it's almost half done and when it's done, I'll probably ask for readers.
Once again, thanks to OSC, M(s)(iss)(rs) Woodbury, and all of my fellow Hatrackers.

Just some news to share with you, I actually plugged away yesterday and hit 2k+. WOOOHOOO!!!
Just another I don't know, maybe 8K more then I'll see where it is. (That'll put it up to around 15k),however, I'm going to push it to the 17k word limit. (I'm sure that's the word limit)

If you think 17k is a word limit, check out the topic I just entered for "Heavy Reading." Mein gott, who woulda guessed a book that weighs as much as a six pack of beer?

It sounds like you may be ready to submit by September 31, instead of waiting until January. At least if you're working as fast as it sounds like you are.
I'm in a similar situation. I've got a WIP that will be somewhere between 10 and 20 thousand words I am considering entering, and I want to submit it for this quarter, not next.
I am so proud of myself for sticking with this one. This one is getting close to being done. Then the all important editing phase. I'd say another week or so till the rough draft is done.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks to OSC for this site, the great KDW, and the many Hatrackers for their insights and wisdom.
