Today I walked away from a mailbox with my teeth gritted, eyes closed, and fists clenched.
Why, you may ask? Well, friends, moments before that mailbox had swallowed a manuscript of The Eddy, my very first short story!
It's out! It's gone! It's rejection-hunting!
I wanted to thank everyone here for their support and encouragement. I don't think I ever would have gotten to this point without you guys. I'd especially like to thank HSO, Survivor, Rickfisher, autumnmuse, shadowynd, djvdakota, and NewsBys for their critiques and comments...and if I left anyone out it's not because you're not important; it's because my head is still spinning a little.
You guys rock! Hope every single one of you is having a phenomenal day! I'm going to go write another short; keep your eye out for Ouroborus In Three, coming soon.

Sweet. Now where did I put my courage Vacume? I've got to strike while it's still there, then mabye I can get the guts to do that. :>

So you're no longer a submission virgin...ahh the loss of innocence. It begins with the flush of excitement and ends with, "It's not you, it's me. We just weren't right for one another." But much like love, the right magazine is out there somewhere.

Well done! Take's courage to do that, as you now know. That's the difference between scribblers and writers: Actually putting it out there for someone to love or hate. Good Luck. I hope it finds a home.

Good for you that you are hard at work on the next thing. Makes the waiting easier, and it can soften the blow if the first one is rejected.

Thanks for all the support! You're awesome! So, now every single one of you needs to submit something so I can do the same for you!!!!
::takes a moment to invent a courage-transfer device:: *sigh* I guess as a snap inventor I make a darn good philosopher.
So, Pyre, how 'bout I say something inspirational instead. ::inserts inspirational thing about finding courage within yourself or something to that effect:: *sigh* Continental philosophy ain't my thing either. I'd go into a logical proof of some sort (yay, analytics!), but it's late and I'm lazy.
I actually sent it to the Writers of the Future contest for the (I think) January to March cycle. We'll see what happens!
So, yeah, thanks again! Hope you're having a great day, and that if you're up around where I am, you keep yourself safe from the weather!
