I don't care who you're planning on voting for (well, I do, but that's not the point) but if you haven't voted yet today, get off the computer and go do it now.

Did that about 8:30 this morning. It seemed really busy, although it was a different location than where I have voted before, so I can't compare.

Thanks for the well wishes. She is already feeling much better and isn't contagious (hence her trip to the polls with me). Antibiotics are wonderful things.

Yea, vote has miniscule impact in states that already have huge majority such as Texas... or on fence states like illinois/michigan anyone's vote has larger stake @@

I voted, and they weren't giving out stickers! New York can be such a cheapskate city. I was going to put it on my two-year-old before we left, and see if anyone cried "Voter fraud!"

I was working on my NaNovel, then my husband came home, stayed with the kids so I could go vote, then came back to write more. Almost 5500 words... but I admit to be watching the election returns. Guess I'll be giving up soon and going to bed (since people were still voting at 11:15pm in Ohio, and there are 1.7 million absentee ballots still to be counted in Florida, I guess staying up doesn't make sense).

Congratulations MaryRobinette! Since you "wrote" your post, a record number of people have voted. You must have a lot of people who follow your work.

Can I write a story inspired by this election? A few ideas have come to mind...mostly having to do with 1984 set in 2084...Is it ok to write a story like that anymore or is that just been done too many times or become too unpopular?
