Heh. Why don't you just create a thread that outlines general forum guidelines, call it "Read Before Posting", close it, and lock it at the top of the page?

There may be something we can do. (There are instructions for people to read before they get this far, but I don't know how many people read them, so I hesitate to add to them.)
The problem with just creating a thread and locking it is that a regular thread won't stay at the top of the page and as time passes, it will not show up at all (the software only shows the postings in the last 45 days unless you specifically tell it to show more).
I'll see if I can figure out something that will work though.

You want to resurrect Tried and True, Survivor?
Maybe we could change the name to something like Fragmentary Feedback, and let people use it to ask for volunteers to comment on stories, as well as a place for discussing story fragments and problems that are blocking writers?

Tried and True was a good name, 'tis just that no one ever actually posted anything in there. But if you want to change the name, then I would prefer Fragments and Feedback, or Feedback on Fragments, to Fragmentary Feedback (though I don't doubt that much of the feedback would indeed be fragmentary...).
I think that having a place to post a snippet of text along with an explaination of the author is trying to accomplish would be nice, though.
