Does anybody ever come up with a line in their stories that just seems to ring in their heads with just a little bit of extra dose of profundity... have you ever written something and thought (if you ever become a known writer), "wow, someone could be quoting that line someday…"
Some of you may not have ever really thought about it, so look back at some of your old work with that thought in mind (and if you're really not sure about the concept I'm referring to, check OSC's quotes). If you think you have a possible quotable in a story of yours (or maybe even another hat-racker's work, but be sure to give them due credit), then let's here them…

I can't think of anything. After I write something, it usually doesn't sound nearly as profound as when I thought it.

In general, I've heard that if there's something like that in your work, you should probably cut it. Chances are, you're the only one who thinks it's a line of genius.
That might be a personal thing to agree or disagree with, but if I see a "gem" in my work, it's gone faster than...things that tend to go quickly....and I think my writing is stronger because of it.
