That's disappointing. What if I have no non-English symbols and don't care about formatting (so long as block quotes stay block quotes, paragraphs stay paragraphs, and footnotes stay footnotes)?

If there's a good and free program you know of that will convert PDF to word, then I don't see why not.

Um. You mean Word doesn't import PDF files out of the box? Alternatively, can't Acrobat export to .doc? Why do we keep these companies around, if they can't do trivial stuff like this?

a) Acrobat Pro lets you save as Word documents. b) Google Docs and something called 'Zamzar' will do the conversion. c) This is a pdf to Word converter.
Disclaimer: Tubes may be clogged with disinformation. Use at your own risk. I have not tried any of these products myself.

Still wondering why anyone would want words wrapped in latex, but whatever floats your boat. Just make sure to clean up afterwards...
