We suggested our 10 year old read Ender's Game. I read the first chapter to him and he has "conned" his dad into reading several other chapters to him as well but he is devouring it! He reads at night and its keeping him up late Last night he brought it to me and he is almost done. I think he's been reading it for five nights now. Had to share with someone that would appreciate it I'm going to give him Ender's Shadow next but may have to wait until his next break from school. EG has turned my early bird into a night owl!

There is a family that my family is very close to, four years ago I wanted to give the eleven year old boy Ender's Game. I was eleven when I read it for the first time, it was certainly transformitive. My brother put a huge kebash on it despite being the person who introduced me to the book. He is fifteen now and somewhat scatter-brained, my brother (who is far more connected to the other family than I am) still thinks I shouldn't give him a copy.

I would if I could, the poor boy is the youngest by nine years with three older sisters. He has had the undivided attention of his frazzled mother since he was born and I'm surprised he is allowed to go to the bathroom without permission.
