I don't have to say how much contempt I have for what you just said, or give reasons why I think it is wrong, I can just put this little icon up and everyone knows instantly that I think you are talking out of your ass.
This after all a discussion board, and this --> doesn't encourage discussion, it just shows disdain and condemnation.

In the Ornery forum, what never fails to piss me off is when someone includes the "forehead-slapping" icon in his reply to me.

You're right, that is MUCH more conducive to discussion, and not NEARLY as disdainful!

(I actually kinda hate the rolly eye emoticon. I sometimes see people use it on people I genuinely think are being silly, but I never think it improves the quality of the conversations, and the few times I've had it used on me I wanted to punch someone through the internet)
