I love all things science, for the most part, but this is really cool because it is helping an accident victim gain some semblance of a normal life again...

This has only been done a few times before in other countries, so it's a very dangerous operation - and if it failed his life would be seriously endangered.
So he must have been desperate (though wouldn't we all). Faces are so important to survive in our society, and the fact that horror movies still use disfigurements as shorthand for evil and dangerous probably doesn't help at all. I really hope everything goes well. It's amazing that this is even possible - it's like living in the future!
