For the next few weeks, Portal is available for free. And as of sometime recently, Steam (an online platform via which you can download various games, on multiple computers) is available for Mac. So if you haven't played Portal yet for some reason you really have no excuse. I'm not 100% sure I'd say it's the BEST game I've ever played, but it's the only "flawless" game I've seen (there's literally nothing about the game that I think needs to be improved, apart from minor bugs that were unintentional, whereas most other games, even good ones I like a lot, have a few issues that detract from the experience.
And you'll be quoting GlaDOS and the turrets for months. Take this gem, for instance:
quote: There was even going to be a party for you. A big party, that all of your friends were invited to. I invited your best friend, 'the Companion Cube'. Of course, he couldn't come, because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn't come either, because you don't have any other friends because of how unlikable you are. It says so right here in your personnel file; 'Unlikable. Liked by no one. A bitter unlikable loner whose passing shall not be mourned.' SHALL NOT BE MOURNED. That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official. It also says you were adopted. So that's funny too.

I find it very suspicious that they released this at the same time most of the American college population is looking for excuses to avoid studying for finals. What's their angle?

This is convenient. I've been Jonesin' for some cake and the nice voice says I'm going to get some!

Yay, thanks for posting this. I'd wanted it on the PC but hadn't been able to justify buying it because we already had it on the Xbox.
