How geeky does it make me that I got all the references except for the one where he quotes some princess?

Princess Irulan was the daughter of the Padishah Emperor Shaddam Corrino and the future wife of Paul Muad'Dib Atreides (in name only, as he loved Chani deeply and married Irulan solely so he could take the throne). "Some" princess, indeed.
And I must admit that I was mildly disappointed that Obama didn't get a chance to answer the simple three-part quiz. LOL

God, can you imagine the dems being out of touch enough to actually invite somebody like the *actual* conservative version of Stephen Colbert? What I mean to say is, the GOP invited Colbert as "The Character" to the dinner in 2006, but can you imagine Obama's people making a similar mistake and inviting somebody who would take that much glee in destroying the President while standing 10 feet away from him?
The gold standard of all roasts, in my opinion, is Stephen Colbert in 2006, but Hodgman is a real rising star, and I am glad he got this opportunity.

Dune often quotes pieces of a book, or books, the Princess supposedly writes after his death. You only meet her a few times in the first book, but she is quoted through out as an expert on him.

It's been 6 years since I read Dune, seems like a good time to read it again. I still remember nothing about her.
But strangely enough, I instantly recognized the Bene Gesserit and Kwisatz Haderach. Selective memory I guess.

Does such a person exist? It occurred to me after reading this that I don't know of many conservative comedians.

I don't know of any. Most people in entertainment are liberals, and those who aren't don't strike me as funny people.

Dennis Miller is the only one that springs to mind. And I'm actually not sure if he isn't more of a libertarian.

I got all the Dune references, half the Star Trek references, and none of the Conan references.

I was watching it with Havah, and when he mentioned Conan, I looked at the video like he was crazy and said, "Crom." Havah looked at me like I was some sort of geek. But Conan used to shout "By Crom!" all the time. And I didn't read Conan comics, so I have no idea why I know that.
