I am trying some things out across a couple of computers using an access database from a network server thingy and on 2 of the computers access seems slow and laggy but on the one I am on currently its fast and convenient.

Suggestions? The access databse is also not connected via to the network but is a local copy.

My belief is that the network the access was conencted to is probably slow or congested explaining the lack of responsiveness from the database.

Yes...accessing Access on a local drive is almost always going to be a lot faster than accessing it on a network share. Similarly, you'll be able to open and save Excel documents faster on the local drive than on the network. Keep in mind you're doing *file access* with Access, and the server isn't taking any of the overhead away from the application.
