I am trying to make my Gmail account the default account when I click on a hyperlink. I have downloaded the "gmailinstaller" from Google, however that just works on my www.google.com Gmail account.

My work email is on a different domain. ie lem@contoso.com (but it is really a gmail account).

Does anyone know what I would look up to find a gmail installer that lets you choose the domain it links to?

I have not tried this, but this post has a link to a bit of software that's supposed to do what you describe. That may be outdated, though...

...ooh, and give this a look.

Edited to answer the actual question, about the Google-fu involved: first I looked at gmailinstaller, finding that the term I was actually looking for was "Gmail Notifier". I then ran two searches: one on "gmail notifier" "apps for your domain", and one on mailto: gmail. The first link was the top hit on the former; the second was in a comment on a Lifehacker post that was the second hit on the latter.
