I get past memory detection and auto detection of some of the harddrivses, but it always hangs on the last one. At first, i thought it was my 400 gb failing, but the thing is, after unplugging the controller cable (sata), it still didn't get past autodetecting drives.
I can't even get into the BIOS, I keep hitting del del del del, adn the sucker just ignores me and goes into post...or it has to post before it can go into BIOS, I'm not sure, but I'm open to ideas.
It seems as if the entire HDD controller on the mobo has died, or there's something funky with the bios. I have vanilla installs on the other drives just for this circumstance, but it's no go.
Also, when it did make it past auto detection and went into the boot menu,...the little countdown timer was counting down, i left...it was frozen at some number when I came back.

I'd suggest attempting to boot without any hard drives plugged in. If you have the same problem with no drives plugged in, it is very likely a motherboard problem. If you can get into BIOS and get it to boot past the POST, you've got a bad hard drive, and then its a matter of plugging in each hard drive by itself to see which one causes the problem.
