Yeah. Staying here on vacation with my parents for like 8 or 9 days; six days we're staying in the Grand Wailea Resort and later we'll stay in the Marriott for 2 or 3 days.
Today is my first day here- it's quite nice. Have fun Hatrack!

Aloha! I'm on Maui too! At least until tomorrow when I fly to the mainland for my vacation.
The Grand Wailea is teh bomb... you must have plenty money or a sweet package to stay there. The beaches down there are so nice.
Enjoy your stay, and if you get food poisoning, call my office and talk to my coworker, cuz I'm on vacation.

Two local radio hosts of a show I listen to on my afternoon commute are also in Maui right now, running their show at the Sheraton. It'd be 1-3 Maui time, I assume, since the show airs from 4-7 in Portland.
I want to go back to Maui. I've been there once and it was incredible. The highlight for me was doing a snuba (not a typo) dive in Molokini crater. But I also got up ridiculously early to go see the sunrise at the top of Hale'akala (sp?) crater, which was stunning, to say the least!

I live on the slopes of Haleakala, and see the summit every morning when I step out of my front door. I see the West Maui Mountains through my bedroom window as I'm getting ready for work (check out the windmills on the south ridge... you can see them quite well from Wailea). I drive along the shore and see whales breaching as I'm on my way to work (not so much this time of year, I'm afraid). I can stop at 3 different beaches on my way home to walk in the sand.
Then I go to Idaho and Missouri on my vacation.
There are certainly costs to living on Maui, but you can't beat the bennies.
