Looks like I'll be in the US on Wednesday to sample the delights of Texas. Then to Maryland on Thursday and back home to Sunny Spain (via Frankfurt) on Friday.
If you see something flashing past, all bleary, jetlagged and begging for a decent cup of tea, it'll be me...
PS - Any suggestions for things to see in Houston? I have a couple of hours free...

I swear Rivka, if I ever make it to California, I'll bring gifts from the Old World for you and yours.

I assume you are flying into Bush Intercontinental. From there and with only two to three hours (and no vehicle?), I'm afraid you will be hard pressed to find something. If you had six to eight, I would suggest NASA, but it is easily a one hour drive from IAH, one way.
If you can get downtown, there are some good restaurants.
I was just down this week. If it were this week, I would have been able to come meet you.
pfresh85 and vonk are both in the area. pfresh85 should be done with school around that time.
Or you could just stay in the airport because it is already extremely hot and humid.

Maryland? Just for a layover? What time? Since you're my festivus brother, I really should try to meet with you if possible.

Hi Guys. Thanks for the offers - the sad thing is this is a business trip with colleagues in tow, so little chance of slipping off for a quick juice with my Hatrack brethren (and sistren of course).
The irony is that my prevous trips to the US have involved much more down time, but now that I have things to do and people to see I'm rattling around like a pea in a tin. Oh well, maybe next time.
I hope Houston isn't too hot. I am not a hot weather person and start to melt if the mercury passes 25ºC...
