Eric Snider's right. It -is- funny that he wrote this essay in order to deride his own show in a scholarly manner.

Still, it's an interesting essay. [Smile]

I can think of episodes that have successfully done this. However, in later seasons they moved far too into the "slapstick" realm, and those other parts didn't work anymore.

It takes some brilliant writers to pull off that mix.
