All sorts of things but the top things are probably: taking pictures, drawing, writing pretty much anything, being outside, learning new stuff and seeing new places.
No allergies but caffeine makes me wicked hyper and I'm contemplating lying about a high fructose corn syrup allergy for the rest of my life. That stuff is just baaaaaaaad. the end.

Age: 24 Favorite colors: Green is my favorite, followed by other cool colors. I dislike pink. I look best in navy blue, pastels, and chocolate brown. Interests: All kindsa stuff, 'specially reading, cooking, travel, babies... You can probably get a better idea from my posts. Allergies: Hazelnuts, animal fibers (so nothing made from them, please), rubbing alcohol and many scents/perfumes, including botanically based; I also have sensitive skin, so please no soaps, lotions, perfumes, creams of any sort or anything scented at all. Oh, and grass. I'm allergic to grass so if you were gonna, say, weave a basket, please do it from a non-grass plant.
Also, LDS, so please nothing containing coffee, tea (from the tea plant, including green; herbal mixtures safe for pregnant women okay), or alcohol.
I'll log in and do Bridey's under the sn we created for her for easy finding. I'll type Emma's for her when she gets home from preschool and tells me what she likes.

Age: 18 months Favorite colors: any Interests: kitties (but then, she calls all animals with four legs "kitty"), "babies" (dolls), books (loves being read to, especially books that have flaps or things to touch), dressing up pretty (which can mean anything from tutus to t-shirts, but she doesn't like hats, although she is slowly beginning to tolerate barrettes and hair bows she is not a big fan of those either.) Allergies: Sensitive skin, please no lotions or other bath/body products; also, because of mother's afore mentioned severe allergies, please nothing made from animal fibers or grass.
Please do not send anything inappropriate for a small child, including things that could break or pose a choking hazard. Candy is allowed if it is easily chewable, but please no nuts (although she can handle raisins.) And duh, don't send coffee or alcohol to a baby.

Age: 22 Favorite colors: Green, blue, black Interests: Books, music, movies, history, theatre, cooking, and mild interest in just about everything else. Allergies: none, but I'm LDS, so the whole alcohol, tobacco, tea, R-rated movies, etc is a no-go.
I love to learn about people and places, so something homemade or local to your area would be great, even if "local to your area" means a picture of the biggest ball of string in the continental US (actually, that sounds awesome).
Edit to add: Oh, and I'm a girl, despite the name.

Age" 29 Favourite Colors: Dark Blue, Light Blue, prussian blue. NOT Pink and orange, it makes me nausated. Interests: Dark decadent chocolate, awesome books (Especially various manga like Banana Fish, Video Girl Ai, or Elf Quest, Spawn action figures (but not the 10th anniversary one, I have him around here somewhere. Dir en grey things, lots of Dir en grey things, Mizazaki stuffed figures, really cute Japanese things, Japanese snacks. Final Fantasy Figures, Snowmen, useless cute things that are not pink, spiderman, rabbits and rabbit shaped things Allergies: None, except for pink and orange together. Ew. And I am also a heathen so i am all for loose tea, but coffee makes my stomach hurt So that could be an allergy.
Favorite color: I like anything that isn't terribly bright. Greens, Blues, Browns and black all look fairly good on me.
Allergies: As far as I know my horse allergy hasn't abated, so last year's "no pony" rule is still in effect. I don't have any food allergies, happily, and there are very few foods that I dislike.
Interests: SF, history (SE Asian, lately, but really my interests in history are pretty broad),PC games, board games, music that I'm unfamiliar with (usually excluding country and bluegrass, though I can handle small doese of the latter), parasites that change their host's behavior, ethology, art, art history, anthropology, archaeology. There's more, I'm sure, but that should be plenty to go on.
I'm very open to getting quirky, interesting things that are unique to where you live (or that are just plain cool, regardless of where they're from), and home made stuff is great too.
No wooden geese, though.
[Edit--I'm going to steal breyer's idea and say that something that you find particularly interesting would be well received, even if it's outside of my usual sphere of interests. Although...honestly, sports bore the carp out of me. I'd try to be enthused about something sports related, but I don't know that I'd succeed.]

Interests: I have a long commute and my car takes CDs OR cassettes. I like 80's music. Cooking. I like those impractical colored tools in the checkout line at Home Depot. I also still have two working VHS players and I don't have very many movies.
Allergies: (Not literally, but things to avoid) Chocolate (white chocolate okay) Alcohol and the Hot Drinks/tobacco, anything R rated. I didn't even think of these things until someone mentioned it on sakeriver.

KQ, that would be so much funnier if it hadn't come up last year, and possibly the year before.
Of course I've always wanted to breed a Pony of The Americas for jumping and name it Sky Diamonds, for my own space pony.

Yep.
But I'll be nice and include some brain-sucking, behavior-altering amoebas, too.
Woot! Will the pony be infected with said brain-sucking, behavior-altering amoebas?
And as long as the space pony stays in its space suit, I don't expect it'll trigger an asthma attack. The question is, where will I find replacement tanks of whatever exotic mixture of gasses it breathes?
[Edit--I thought it was funny, kq]

Nah, I'll send the amoebas as an infect-your-own kit.
And the horse produces its own gases, duh. It's self-sustaining. That's why it's a space pony OF AWESOMENESS.

Allergies: Lotions/bath products and candles usually make me sneeze.
Food/Drink: I do not eat red meat or seafood. I like caffeine, alcohol and R-rated movies, but despise dark chocolate.
I love movies, cooking and baking, eating out, and especially reading. I love volunteering and giving back to the community (I am full-time student majoring in Nonprofit Administration), so a donation to a charity may be a nice idea. Just like Noemon, I would love stuff from your area.

Colours: The "Kate Spectrum" ranges from cranberry to purple. I also wear a lot of black and grey. No yellow, orange or orangy reds.
Allergies: Lots unfortunately. Animal dander (sadly) so don't send me any kitties or puppies or bunnies; scented stuff is probably not a great idea. I am also allergic to metal so jewelry is not a great idea unless it is "hair jewelry". My only food allergy is bananas. I don't drink coffee, but am happy to experiment with most other things. No religious restrictions on food or drink.
I enjoy: Music (classical, Irish, folk, oldies, standards...), theatre, art, history, knitting, books (fiction and non), religion, politics, sex (but I can't imagine wrapping that! or mailing it!). And you all already knew that. I wear a lot of scarves.
Colors: Blue, dark red bordering on maroon, lilac, and silver. No yellow, orange, or pink.
Allergies: None. Not a huge fan of smelly bath/lotion/candle things. And I don't drink coffee, but I do like tea.
Interests: New music. NO PUNKROCK OR METAL. (I've been there, done that.) Ireland, counties Roscommon and Sligo. Old paperback sci-fi books. Chocolate, dark, medium and white. Yarn. Broadway Musicals. NO Les Miserables or modern Sondheim. Blech. Anything quirky from your place of residence. Large purses are fun, and by large I mean large enough to fit a hardcover book and all the miscellaneous crap I must tote around.

Interests: Guitar, video games, a wide range of music, rave culture, web & graphic design, anything and everything business and entrepreneurship related. I'm an extremely picky eater, though, so food is a bad idea.
Allergies: I have a severe contact allergy to stainless/surgical steel, silver of all kinds and gold less than 18k, but purer gold, platinum and titanium are okay.

Colours: Anything but black. Orange, yellow, and green are probably my favourites. I generally like bright, rainbow things.
Allergies: I really dislike pineapples and coffee and don't really drink alcohol. Also, I'm a strict vegetarian, so please no animal products like gelatin, beeswax, real wool, leather, meat, dairy, etc. Thanks!
Interests: Dance (Irish, tap, modern), the Arctic, Irish everything, theatre, archaeology, listening to languages I don't know, Greek mythology, children's books, playing the piano, songwriting, trees, curling, osteology, silent films, music (especially Maritime/Irish folk and old 1920's-40's jazz/pop). (Really, I'm interested in just about everything I hear about, so don't feel you have to pick something from this list.)
I would also enjoy receiving something local to you or that you particularly enjoy yourself. Also, a charity gift is fine by me if you want to go that route.
I'm looking forward to this.

Female, 30 (well the end of November I'll be 30, I have another 2 weeks to be "in my twenties")
Colors: I prefer cool colors (green, blue and purple are my favorites) and despise orange (I'm not fond of yellow or pink either).
Allergies: I have quite a few but I ignore most of them (except bananas and MSG, which give me migraines). After I have my baby, my diet will be somewhat restricted (upon advice from my allergist - no strawberries, tomatoes, and nuts) while breastfeeding her. I'm also LDS, so no coffee, tea leaves (though I enjoy herbal "teas"), or alcohol.
Interests: At the moment, I'm pretty much consumed with preparing for the impending birth of our first baby (a little girl due to arrive on December 18th) and the dramatic change in my life that being a mother will be. I do have other interests though - cooking, music (I have wide-ranging tastes), reading (anything wonderful regardless of genre), dark chocolate, frogs, plants, sewing, and our 3 cats. Someday, I plan to improve my art skills (drawing, painting, etc).

I'm 42. And, for those who can't figure it out from my posts or screen name, I'm a woman.
Colors: Lately I'm favoring earth toned browns and tans, but my classic favorites have always been black and red.
Interests: If you are an artist or into crafts, I'm interested in seeing a sample of your work. Handmade things from someone who enjoys needlecrafts or the arts make wonderful gifts. If your area is famous for <whatever>, I'd love something with local color. But, if you're from Detroit, don't bother sending me a lug nut or something. They have those in New Jersey, too. It's probably a best bet to avoid edible gifts for me, since I've got that double whammy -- trying to reduce my weight, and strictly kosher -- so, unless you send something like fresh fruit, I likely wouldn't be able to enjoy it. And really, I already have easy access to fresh fruit, anyway. I also like pretty things like jewelry, scarves, and other girly-type accessories. I'm almost always feeling too cold, so if you give me something warm -- say a scarf, mittens and the like -- you can be sure they'd be appreciated and would get good use.
Most of all, and the main reason that I like to participate in the gift exchange, is my interest in YOU. Give me something that tells me about yourself. Something that YOU find cool and interesting and will let me get to know you better. Mixing together a CD with your favorite music is a terrific "throw in" that I'm sure to enjoy not only for its content, but also for the chance to learn more about you.
Allergies: Anchovies. But what kind of freak sends somebody that for a gift?

Music: classic rock, esp. U2 and The Who and others from 70's & 80's. Also most anything related to sci-fi/fantasy, cars, maps, signs, graphic design, computers. Not really into sports except for Red Sox. I would also like anything that interests you or is home-made. If you chose something that my 2 year old girl might like that would be ok too. (she is learning colors, shapes, abc's, kid's songs, and likes cats, dogs, dollies, cars, characters from Shrek, etc...) Allergies: none, but I have a fear of olives & mushrooms.

Favorite colors - Well, erm, I don't really like pink or certain shades of ochre. My house is light blue and brown, primarily and I'll wear darn near anything.
Interests - Lots and lots. I like books of all sorts, especially old ones. I like Greece and Rome (and Egypt and Sumeria and Byzantium and... the list goes on. You get the idea.). I love football, but not baseball. I like tasteful pretty things, computers, movies, and I especially like random local things.
Allergies - None that I know of. Good luck trying to find one.

You know what, though . . . a pedagogy-related gift or a religion-related gift would probably not be good, since you can't know me well enough to know what would be right there. Disney, writing, reading, science fiction, though . . . all good choices.
I love the written word. A book that's meaningful to you would be great. Or a letter with your gift telling me the story behind it.
