The "making of" book for Stardust is out now. It includes the complete screenplay, which reveals some major changes to the story.
Particularly to the ending. It's completely different from the novel.
Was Neil Gaiman mad about these changes?
Surprisingly enough, no. Certain things work in prose that don't work on screen, and the reverse is also so.
Then he warmed the cockles of my geekish heart, by saying he personally considers the movie to be "The Stardust of Earth 2"...revealing his almost latent background DC super-hero comics.
Looking forward to the film a tad more eagerly.

Wow. I'm going to cross-stitch that on a pillow. Or...frame it and give it to every raging Harry Potter fan that I know. Well said, Mr. Gaiman.

The full trailer came out a couple of months ago. And extended version can be seen attached to some copies of Order of the Phoenix, or at the official site.
