Hullo. I lurk a lot and post once every lunar eclipse (or thereabouts).
I was listening to our lousy local radio station and they said something about the greatest hits of the seventies, eighties, nineties, and today.
I'm wondering what they'll say next decade. What are we going to call the 00's? Is there already a popular term I'm unaware of? Does one still need to be coined?
Seeing as how this is the most interesting mix of smart people I've ever seen on the web, I put it to you to help me solve this great mystery.

This seems to be the most popular answer to the question (which has been discussed since at least the early 90s). It's what they did last century, after all.
I just think we should change the spelling a little.

Last century started with the "Aughts." The first decade of this century, I'm convinced, should be remembered as the "Couldas."

I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read this, because it wouldn't have been good for my computer.

I'm still waiting for something awesome to happen so I can talk about "back in aught seven" when I get old. It'll be awesome.

At the high school here, the seniors made T-shirts that say "Class of 007 -- Licensed to Chill".
