This is what my girlfriend just asked me, handing me an insurance offer addressed to Ms My Name, mis-spelled. Granted, the mis-spelling is of such a nature that it's not easy to determine the gender of the name, but still. It was funny.

My father is the 4th, and he uses the Roman Numeral IV in his signature. He often gets computerized letters addressed to, Dear Mr. Iv.

My mother's name is Noa... so, naturally, she gets "Mr. Noah" all the time. And my dad's name is an Israeli one, so it's not easy to tell if it's a male or female name, if you don't speak Hebrew. So we get letters addressed to "Mr. Noah and Mrs. Dror."
It's rather amusing when it happens.

My family tends to get a lot of letters for deceased grandparents sent to our house. How they got our address, and why they seem to think long since passed people are still alive remains a mystery to us, though we really, really wish they'd stop.
There's still that tenth of a second every time I see a letter addressed to "Roberta Hobart" that I think my grandma is still alive, then realize she isn't.

I used to get letters addressed to Raia's first name and my last name. Still not sure how that happened. And Raia has a distinctive first name, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't just coincidence.

Haha! I remember that, blacwolve. It's been a while since I thought about that... I remember the first time you called me to tell me that one of those letters arrived... wasn't it an invitation to participate in a beauty pageant, or something?

When I was in elementary school, I got a mailing from the AARP. They got my name right, which was good as I used the sheet of return labels they sent for years.

I once got a letter addressed to Mrs Karl Jennings. I tossed it in a box thinking if I ever got married I'd give it to my (theoretical) wife. (I was 18).
I found it years later and gave it to Douglas (my partner at the time) and said "Oh, this came for you a while ago."
I think that had to be the longest setup for a joke ever.

At this house, we get mail for Fahim, his father, and his brother, who all have initials with the letters A, F, and M in various combinations.
Imagine our confusion when we received a registered letter for Mr. F Farook from a bank that all three have accounts with. Which, upon opening, had no other name information other than F, and which was the PIN number for either a debit card or a credit card, but they'd failed to put the account number in it, so we still had no indication of who it was for. >_<
