No landmark today - to answer the unanswered stalker question from the other thread, I'm studying for comps and so I don't have time to post anything insightful (unless, of course, you're interested in Menander [or Hesiod, Homer, Euripides, Herodotus, Varro, Cicero/Lucretius, Propertius, Virgil, and/or Perpetua]).
I think I'm going to something vaguely landmark-like this weekend. I've actually got something to say this time, too.

NOOB!
"The Internet" as a technology open to the public has existed at least since 1985, with the TCP/IP network on which it was built coming online for less public use in 1983. So "The Internet" has been around for 21 years (arguably 23). And OSC has been online for at least 13 years because I posted on his BB on Prodigy (I think it was) way back then.

It is hard to find a place to call home on the Internet for seven years.
In the last few years, I've followed Slashdot and then moved on to Digg and fark, and now I'm obsessed with Reddit. But through it all I always came back to Hatrack.

*lifts mug of tea in congratulations and looks forward to the landmark*
*remembers being totally unimpressed, baffled, and resentful of the one computer tech class taken in 1987 at college which included some sort of e-mail thing*
*wonders now how she would survive without internet and e-mail now --- nahhh -- life would go back to slow paced and peaceful*
