I hereby pass a resolution to be ratified by the Hatrack Congress that Citizen "Tante" be Awarded The award of 'Hero of the Hatrack Union' for her deeds of awesomeness ever since she has been here, these include a in no way exshausted list:
-Providing care and comfort to those in need.
-Sharing her infinit supply of humor to Hatrack all these years.
-Consequently because of the above she has been a source of upliftingness for all Citizens of Hatrack.
-For her bravery of the defence of the Soviet Motherland against the trolling Facists.
-For her everlasting kindness and patience with us.
quote: Long live our Hatrack Motherland, built by the people's mighty hand. Long live our People, united and free. Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire, Shining in glory for all Shvesters to see.

Pffft, didn't you notice we're in a Soviet Motherland? The collection won't be voluntary, much easier that way.

fas‧cism /ˈfæʃɪzəm/ [fash-iz-uhm] –noun 1. A governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
Its funny being called a fascist by a communist.

Facsists generally ideologically support greater cooperation between big buisnesses and governments Communists ideologically speaking support equality, a classless society, freedom from oppression from the upper classes aka from big buisness, and the unity of the proleteriate for the safe gaurding of world revolution. Thus while Socialist governments have acted in some ways as facsists many of their decisions and the basic economics of such governments tend to be radically different from self described facsist ones.

Wow. Except for Blayne skipping a period in his last post, I was really impressed by that paragraph in terms of clarity, etc. A bit wordy, but only one acronym.
In other news ... I was in my War and Society During the French Revolution class today and the word "Tante" appeared on the board for some reason. I honestly can't remember why, I just remember sitting up in my seat thinking "Tante! I know a a Tante!". And now a whole thread dedicated to her here ... It must be fate. Count me in for the Tante statue or medal or whatever.

That should be obvious.
And according to Fascist IDEOLOGY a brave, benevolent, inteligent ruler forms the foundation for a great empire, using his great abilities to make sure all that needs doing gets done. His only goal is the betterment of society, because that brings him the greatest happiness. He treats the needs of even the most lowliest of his subjects with greater enthusiasm then his own, thus safe guarding the future of his specific state.
At least thats what Fascism could do on paper. I imagine just about any system of government can do great and wonderful things in that medium.
It takes a Fascist to make the trains run on time.
edit: My apologies Tante, I too support the effort to craft a statue in your honor

If you keep using phrases like, "All these years" about Tante, she just may purge you.
Otherwise, I concur. And I will pledge the statue. One can of Pledge, on me. Well, actually, on her.

Steve - I think it's safe to say that Blayne doesn't have a grip on language, period. And I believe what he spelled wrong is Yiddish anyway.

I think it should read "Je n'aime pas parler Francais aussi."
You don't conjugate "parler" when your intent is to use the infinitive. I think the location of "aussi" is a matter of choice, but I always learned to toss it on the end.

15 months counts as "all these years" now? Goodness, inflation really is affecting everything.
Well in all the years Blayne has been registered, (Aug 2005), he has never been so cogent. I nominate Blayne for the order of the silver fingertips- type away young prose poet- the keyboard loves you.

As for stalking Tante ill take that comment in jest, while it has been a wild goal of mine to meet as many Hatrackers as I can stalking just one or 2 is however not on the agenda.

I am Blayne, and TL, and Bando Commando, and Ori, I am also Sid Meier, who is an alter-alter-ego, the ghost of a cypher- I am an enigma, wrapped in a puzzle, twice warmed over.
I've fooled you all for so long ::laughs as only the hearty satisfied evil character can:: And now it is time to unmask myself. It was I, fair fools- all along I have fooled you, feigning ignorance, youth, age, cogence, Canadianness, and finally pure snobbery.
Through a long chain of threads, linking to other threads, at the heart of them a little known landmark, the very first, for it is I: Papa Janitor, who has been toying fiendishly with your hopes and your desires for all these long years, since august of 2005. I have made seductions dangerous, suggestions of anarchy, godwin's law, inserted inane Wikipedia links, and played my vile mischief, like the crazed lunatic plays his off-tune lute. Oh yes, and the revelation is so, so sweet. :evil laugh:
-the above is a work of fiction, and all Hatrack characters mentioned, living or deceased, are not the alter egos of Orincoro- Or are they?????

Did I say anywhere that I'm good at speaking French?

I actually knew that; I just made a typo.

Morbo is obviously going through a tough time, we need to immiedatly give him proper medical atention to help speed his recovery. As such hell be moved to a secure facility away from distractions in a remote area where he can relax and enjoy the great outdoors and lots of streneous excersize by aiding the locals build a socialist paradise.

No, no, you're looking for my 2nd cousin twice removed, Mad Cap'n Morbo. I'm as ideologically pure as Siberian glacier water.

Err, my estranged cousin declines your kind vacation plans with thanks; also, he says if you euphemise like a Commie and march like a Commie, you're a Commie.
quote: In our time, political speech and writing are largely the defense of the indefensible . . . Thus political language has to consist largely of euphemism, question-begging and sheer cloudy vagueness. . . . People are imprisoned for years without trial, or shot in the back of the neck or sent to die of scurvy in Arctic lumber camps: this is called elimination of unreliable elements. Such phraseology is needed if one wants to name things without calling up mental pictures of them.

Well, its nice to think of respecting ones choice and opinions but you see in your cousin's estranged state, he could go hysterical and cause disorder by saying counter-revolutionary statements as such medical treatement is immediately required, the Ministry of State Security's medical staff have already been despatched, unfortunatly due to time zone differences itll probably happen around midnight. We'll compensate you for the broken door, you know how enthusieastic security personel are with their jobs.
