That's right. I'm holding a murder mystery party for all of my friends. It's going to be incredible. I found this sight online, night of mystery that designs and sells murder mystery parties. I'm so excited. The only problem is that I'm the host, and so can't exactly participate. But still, I know everything, which just makes me feel high and mighty. I also plan to serve (nonalcoholic) specialty drinks, so if any of you know any that we could make, it would be great.
Comments, suggestions on costumes or food selection?

I wanna come! I've always wanted to go to one!
What party are you gonna do? Are guests going to come in costume? Or are you going to have some costume elements there they can add to a dress code (say, suits for the men and black or red dresses for the women, etc.?) I ask partly from jealous curiosity and partly because it would influence my choice of drinks (and snacks.)

We're doing the Murder of a Millionare and yes, guests are coming in costume. Each character bio comes with costume suggestions. Basically, they have to dress fancy. My favorite character, however, is Fabio Fabulous, the pool boy. We're trying to convince my friend to come in a speedo, but I'm not sure how well that would work out. But, to answer your question, there is no set dress code that they have to follow. Mostly it's just dress to impress.
Ps. I seriously think we should do this for Hatrack at some time. We'll get as many people as possible together and just have a great time. I think it would be amazing.

I tried doing that for New Year's 2006. It was a flop. Probably because we didn't start thinking about it until the day of... And we tried to write our own. >.>

I went to one. I played Hamlet. I wore a ton of depressing makeup and black clothes and acted morose a lot. It was fun.
It would have been more fun, however, if some of the people involved actually got into character and played along.

That sounds awesome! I've been to theme parties where you stay in a character, but never one with a PLOT and stuff, sounds like a lot of fun

I started writing one of these once. I think I lost the file or something, but I stalled since I'd only played one once. You guys probably would have liked it (if anyone would have) it would have been set on a space station. I haven't seen any sci-ones before (or since). Anyway, have fun.

Wow. This was a bigger success than I could have dreamed. Everyone had such a good time. We had coketails and accused each other of lying and cheating. And, best of all, no one guessed the murderer. I feel like I should get some prize for that. The "I'm so special and no one guessed what I knew" secret. But anyway, I loved it and I can't wait to do it again.
