While it's not an anniversary of when Mama Squirrel and I got married, it is the anniversary of when we changed from Moose and Squirrel to Papa Moose and Mama Squirrel, so....
Happy Birthday, Mooselet!
He had a pretty cool birthday party where he got to introduce his girlfriend to lots of his *cough*andasfarastheyarebothconcernedherfuture*cough* aunts and uncles and cousins -- her presence was his favorite part of the party, of course, and not just because he got to see her in a two-piece bathing suit (we filled a little kiddie pool with water and fourteen kids). We're all wiped out (party went past Superstation's naptime, so he fell asleep in his dinner), and so are now going to head off to get some sleep. Well, Mooselet and Superstation are already in bed, and Mama's putting Squoose to bed as I type, and although I could probably stuff some ice cream down my gullet despite having had lots and lots of cake, I believe she and I are heading to sleep, too. Maybe after we finish celebrity poker showdown.
G'night.

We survived another year. This time with a party for about 30 at Chuck E. Cheese's. The pizza was much better than I remember (this isn't saying much at all).
Carl was there with his two brothers, two kids from school (one of whom is that same aforementioned girlfriend), one from church, one friend of the family, two sons of two of Mama's co-workers, and five cousins. This plus assorted parents/aunts/uncles/grandparents/teacher. We held it after Squoose's afternoon nap, so nobody missed out. We're physically and emotionally drained, but everyone had a good time. And Mooselet (accidentally? I don't know, didn't see it happen) ripped off Chuck's nose, so a lot of the live show didn't happen. They had it fixed for the next party, though.

There MUST have been at least a couple of adults who cheered a little inside about that.

So, he's 6 now? And did he and his girlfriend break up after seeing each other every day in kindergarten? What happened about that? Are they still planning to get married? Don't leave us hanging here!

Oh yeah, that girlfriend still lives in town, but she moved to another school. We don't see her anymore. I actually don't know if he has a girlfriend right now.
