I was going to do a landmark, but decided I already said whatever I would say 500 posts ago.
Besides, when you cheat and use alternate handles, post counts just become arbitrary.
For a while I toyed with the idea of having each alternate sign-in reach a round number, and then doing each post in one thread, but then I remembered I'm not that lame.
(Just kidding if anybody's done that. It's an awesome idea, and you're way cooler than I am.)
So instead, I've got a question for Hatrack--
Circumstances are such that I won't be able to do Uncle Orson's writing class this year like I'd hoped. But I'd still like to do something.
I don't really have the means or the vacation time to do anything that would take me out of town for more than a weekend, which means it would have to either be online or in Southern California.
I did Dave Wolverton's weekend workshop last year, and enjoyed it tremendously. It's the most helpful thing I've ever done.
So anybody have any ideas? Either a workshop or a class that's either in Southern California or online, that would either be related to film production or writing? Preferably genre writing?
I know various universities have extention courses, but I don't know how useful the specific classes are.

Well, I think I'm going to take this course for starters. Any hatrackers want to do it with me?
It's free, but there are two texts, one of which is like 40 bucks. But my local library had them both, and it's not the greatest, so you may have similar luck.
