Fairly early on in the episode, Book, Jayne and Simon are all sitting around the table betting on which chores they don't want to do.
It's shortly before River has a crazy moment and starts to rip all the labels off the canned foods.
Does anyone know what card game Joss based the one they are playing off of. It looks like a combination of poker and euchre. "Plums are tall" and "dealer forced to claim the tall" sounds a lot like "hearts are trump" and a screw the dealer type rule. That mixed with some sort of poker rule where you get to turn some cards in and get a couple back.
Just curious if anyone had read anything about it.

Interesting game. Makes me wish I could buy a deck of Tall cards. Actually what I really want is a workable version of Sabacc, but thankfully Tall Card doesn't require any sort of technology to play.

Worked for me at work, and again here at home.
It's a download repository site, though, and it's entirely possible your ISP or company might have it blocked to avoid bandwidth problems.
