I was a regular poster here a long time ago; I suppose it's been about four years now. Yikes. Life gets crazy, you lose Internet access for a while, and suddenly you realize it's been years and you don't recognize most of the people on the forum. I suppose I *could* just comb the threads for people I recognize, but aliases change and, frankly, I'm lazy. I do recognize a few people. Who's still around that I'd remember? I'd love to re-acquaint myself with some of the wonderful people I used to know here. Long time no see!
To everyone I don't yet know, hallo! I look forward to becoming acquainted.

Well, yes, but I returned about a year and a half ago, posted briefly from the public library, and then got heavily involved in the Proverbial Vicissitudes of Life. I haven't really been seen since. *grin*
And thank you! It's good to see you again as well.

You know, I was actually thinking about you the other day. Someone that had actually said goodby, did a mission, then came back, then disappeared. I couldn't remember your name, but it was definitely you I was thinking of. Welcome back.

Hi, Yank. Sorry I was such a lousy Hatrack provider while you were gone. Zevlag and Hobbes are suffering that right now.

katharina: You were *not* lousy, *I* was a lousy correspondent.
I'm working Tech Support now, so between calls and emails I have a lot more time to troll the Internet in all its ridiculousness. Things are going well, if not how I planned, but that's life. I'm also in an apprenticeship for Martial Arts teaching now, having taken up Shaolin Chuan'fa (a Kempo/Kung-fu style) right off my mission. So, very busy but busy doing things I enjoy doing.

Yay!! Welcome back, Yank! I didn't remember that you were back from your mission, but that makes sense, as it seems like a LONG time ago that you left.

Actually, I remember every one of you saying, "I don't think you'd remember me." It's good to see y'all again!

Where did the Pun Police go? We've got a serious violation of the Bad Pun Statute here. *grin*

Well, of course I can't remember who you were if your name has changed. It's not like I have faces to go on, or that your post gives me any clues.

You wouldn't remember who I was. I tricked you. *happy dance* I apologize. I actually didn't have a name before this, and you are new to me.
You seem like a neat-o person. Would you mind ignoring my cruel joke and letting me get to know you slightly better?

Bah, cruel joke, shmuel joke. *grin* If that's your idea of a cruel joke, you need to go to Boy Scout Camp. Or live in my last apartment.

I've been to Boy Scout Camp for the past four years, thank you very much. And I've camped over my birthday each time, to boot.

I remember you, Yank, and I remember when you posted just after your mission. Has it seriously been a year and a half since then?!

Ah, Scout Camp- the memories, the axes, knives and other sharp objects, the guns, the pyromania (Scout water!), the cows streaming in from an adjacent cattle ranch, the sheer number of 12-year-old human males....
It's a wonder any of us survived to post about it.

I just remember one of my friends and I decided to cremate these frogs we found that were dead. We got in huge trouble for that...

Nope, I'm more or less out of the janitorial business. Besides, grey matter is corrosive stuff; did you know the Old West trappers used beaver brains to cure their hides?

Beaver brains -- wow! So, without all those beavers sitting around thinking healthy thoughts, we'd have had a bunch of trappers in the old west suffering from acne, boils and leprosy?
Which actually sucks, as opposed to Papa Moose's change which was a good thing.
But lots of good things have happened since you've been gone. Weddings, babies born, stories published. All sort of coolness.

You know Shmuel? I'd have thought he was since your time.
I haven't been here 4 years yet, but I do remember your too-short posting flurry a year and a half ago. Welcome back!

I don't know if you remember me Yank, but I remember you... I've been here about three years, so I'm not sure why it is that I know you... anyway, welcome back!!
