With all the airline threads on the front page, one more couldn't hurt, right. Seriously though, I'm an America West stockholder, and am curious about the effect the merger will have on both my stock and the company's performence.
I'd like to hear from those who fly frequently, as well as those with business knowledge.

United's flights are wayyyy too crowded. I actually have felt a little claustrophobic. I once tried to bend over to check under my own seat for anything that might have fallen under there during the flight. I couldn't, because the seat in front was in the way of my head. And I'm pretty short!
The America West pilots always seem to have rough landings. But hey, if you like roller coasters, I highly recommend riding on one of their regional jets.
I'm not really optimistic about this merger resulting in an airline I want to fly. These days, when I fly home, I fly Southwest, even though that lengthens the drive home from the airport by an hour.

I'm happy about it. All of my Dad's frequent flier miles now apply to both United and American West, meaning we can fly pretty much anywhere for free.
