paint huffers actually point the can toward themselves?? I thought they could spray it away from themselves and kind huff the fumes from above.
It puts an entirely new spin on it.. I knew it was stupid...but to actually spray your face with paint... that's incredibly stupid. What morons.

He seems like a bit of a twit, to put it mildly.
On the other hand, the topic is a sad one for me. "Huffing" (especially gasoline) has been a real problem for some groups of young adolescents and preadolescents in poverty. I am willing to make a nod to personal responsibility, even for kids. But any general social system which enables 6 to 12 yr-olds to be inhaling gas fumes on a regular enough basis to permanently damage themselves neurologically is a system that has broken down.
I can't help remembering a littl'un with memory problems and insuppressable facial twitches, the top of whose head didn't even come up to my waist.
Edited to add: And this is especially a problem in certain places in Canada. I am not blind to the problems that exist in that system, too. *sigh

*Relieved that this wasn't a punwit bashing thread*
Also, not relieved that prolonged exposure to paint fumes apparently can .... ummm, what was I saying?

Well, the hairline and the beady eyes might confuse you, but for future reference I find gold a bit heavy for my tastes.

I'd also suggest that that guy was a spendthrift That stuff is expensive and I daresay that splurging on gold paint doesn't au gur well for his retirement fund.

It's a huge problem in a lot of Northern communities up here, especially the smaller, more isolated ones. Nothing else to do, high depression rates and all that. It's pretty sad.

I found the rest of that website fascinating. There are some seriously strange mug shots. Michael Jackson and Bill Gates were the strangest, to me.
There was a movie a few years back with (I think) Laura Dern as a huffing addict who got pregnant and there was this HUGE battle over whether she should abort or go through with the pregnancy. Great social commentary all around, I thought. It portrayed the pro-life and pro-choice movements at their best and worst, I thought. Really challenged the audience.
Especially since no-one was actually interested in helping this addicted woman with her problem.
<insert apology for the derailment here>
