Is there anyway to turn off those lovely global warming messages? When you get about 20 per turn and the screen jumps all over the map, it gets dizzifying.

I believe there's a way in the options, but I don't have Civ III on my computer at work so I can't check =/ Seems like there were a lot of ways to customize the messages.
How are you getting so much polution? Have you been playing a friendly game of "Catch The Nuclear Missile?"

Kojabu: I thought so =) It's kinda hard for the other civs to over polute if you're not making pretty lights appear above their cities.
I don't usually go nuclear because I like taking cities in tact and I find that if the nuclear can of worms is opened (and you have SDI in all your cities like you should before you open that can) any city you take will get repeatedly nuked till there's nothing left.
Still, there's nothing like nuking that huge pile of units they have coming to re-take their capital... or their huge fleet of ships. That way there's no polution.
BTW, you ever notice that the results of global warming is good as often as it is bad? "Oh no! My swamp/jungle got turned into a grassland with a shield! What will I do?"

I'm excited about Civ IV. It seems like it's gonna be pretty awesome. Review Here
I'm also excited about playing with my housemates this summer, we've got at least 6 people in the house who want to have an all day tournament. Should be kinda crazy.

Haha yea, I'm still learning the ways of the battle. For awhile I was just building cities and kind of ignoring the other civs, but in the past few civ-full days, I've started attacking more.
Yea I like it when it does that, but then eventually it all goes to desert and everyone's starving and they want you to stop the war, but the Russians haven't died yet and it's just a whole big mess. And then you start a new game. =)

I'm excited about Civ IV too but I'm quelling it as much as I can until the release date gets closer. or at least, announced.
As for combat in Civ III, if you want to win at the higher levels you need lots of enemies and you have to go for their throat quickly. Otherwise they'll completely out tech, boom and expand on you. Then they'll roll over your 3 cities with their mighty warrior code. If you go to war with them quickly and win, you will be the mighty one with warrior code. (Celts+Iron Working ftw)

Maybe he shot the tank in the vision slits and the bullet bounced back in forth inside it killing the crew?
