My ankle started acting up Tuesday night after my run. I had twisted it a few months back playing basketball and it’s been hurting every now and then since. I tried to find an orthopedic doctor to go to but they were all busy till the end of June. I wound up going to the clinic here in Grafton on Wednesday. They’ve got me a referral for some doc in June. It’s not swelling or anything. Just hurting. They took x-rays and gave me a prescription for ibuprofen. And also have me a gel cast. Will be perfect for running! But also, I guess my blood pressure is up and has been the last few times I’ve been in. Today it was 160/100 and I guess is usually 150/90. So…. She’s putting my on some BP med. I forget the name. Not a beta blocker or diuretic since I run. Guess I’m getting old. Sigh…. How depressing.

I've got a race in the series I'm doing this weekend, plus next weekend is the Rail Trail Half Marathon. Lots of points for the series. The gel support should help keep things in place so that it heals good. At least that worked with the right ankle last year (left this time).

I sprained my ankle pretty severely several years ago. It hurt with declining frequency for the next three years. For the first year it hurt pretty bad whenever I had walked for very long. As time went on it only hurt when the weather was very damp, but it was a full three years before I didn't have any pain at all.

Yeah, big deal about my ankle. Those heal and what not. Same ol same ol there. This BP thing though…… goodness…… What the heck. You’d think with as much as I run it would be low. Guess I should loose another 20 or so and maybe that’ll help.

Maybe we need to take a closer look at your "what's for lunch" thread and make some suggestions....

resting... yeah. I guess I have noticed that usually stays just under 90 which is a little high. Yeah, I’m dead. Make your plans now to attend my funeral next week.

When I was running regularly my BP and heartrate were both insanely low. Now that I'm a sloth they're just on the low side of "normal."
