I'm creating an intranet that needs to be searched, and this means I can't use the Google search this site function like Hatrack has. I'm not sure what else to use - is there an industry standard for this? Is there a best one?

I know it's a big topic, so if someone wants to point me a in direction that I can read all about it, that'd be fabulous too. [Smile]

Buy a google search appliance.

http://www.google.com/enterprise/

Or, if the intranet is well mapped and/or backed by a few well understood repositories, create a custom solution using Lucene (a library for indexing and doing searches on indexes).
