I received this reply to the following question I sent someone on IM: "So, how's it going?"
The answer was simple: quote: im k.... like w\e
Now, here are the the issues and things I would change:
In structure:
1) Write a capital--"I" for two reasons: the first, it being the first person nominative pronoun; the second, beginning a sentence.
2) Use an apostrophe to show that--"I'm" is a contraction.
3) Replace--"k" with either--"OK" or--"okay", according to preference.
5) Replace the ellipsis with a semi-colon.
6) If inapplicable, backspace on one dot from the ellipsis.
7) Replace--"w\e" with--"whatever".
8) If inapplicable, at least writ--"W/e"!
9) Write a full stop at the end.
In Content:
1) Drop the--"like".
2) Drop the--"w/e".
This is the continuation of the previous thread posted yesterday (I think). [ April 09, 2005, 04:21 PM: Message edited by: Jonathan Howard ]
