Elijah Wood's new movie, Hooligans. You can find the trailer on that site. However, I do feel I need to tell you that the trailer is essentially nonstop, gritty violence.
Being in Austin, I've heard some buzz about this movie. Apparently it's one of the better recent assessments of English football hooliganisms, and a movie that does't "prettify" violence (as I was told Fight Club did; that can only make me think of what is actually in this movie).
What strikes me is how our little Frodo is in this movie.
So that makes this:
1. A pervy little scumbag in Eternal Sunshine 2. A mute, ninja serial killer who eats whores in Sin Ciy 3. And a violent football Hooligan in, well, Hooligans
Well, since it took, what, three years to film the Lord of the Rings, you have to get tired of the innocent good guy roles, huh?

It's also a safe strategy. Being the central character in such a movie is a dangerous thing- you risk being typecast forever. One way to break the mold is to take eclcectic (sp?) roles that are totally unlike the one he is danger of being typecast as.
It's also a mental strategy; "I'm am not Frodo, I am an actor. Watch me NOT be Frodo."

Yeah. I'm actually really enjoying the new stuff Elijah's putting out there now. I think it's hilarious he's Kevin in Sin City, and I hear he is creeeeeeepier than anything.
EDIT: Also, is there any chance anyone here knows the name of the song in the trailer?

It's "Cells" by The Servent. But the version on the trailer doesn't actually exist anywhere really. Well, that's not true, it just hasn't been released that way.
If you want the song without the lyrics, you can get it Here but it has some distortions in it that makes it a little glitchy. Still, it's better than nothing. Enjoy.
PS. There's like a hundred petitions out there from random people to get The Servant to officially release the instrumental version of the song, which would probably sound a lot nicer. As it is, it really sounds kinda cool even with the lyrics (despite the fact that the lyrics are kinda weird at some parts).

No, not in the Sin City trailer, in the Hooligans trailer. Shoulda specified. As a Sin City fanboy, I've been chasing the instrumental version of that song for a while now.

The song in the Hooligans trailer is called 'Listen,' and is by a band called Coronet. One of the members of the band posted this information on IMDB.
The trailer song and others by the band can be downloaded here. It seems the band has already broken up, without any album releases.

Isn't Sean Astin do the same thing Elijah Wood is doing?
Sean Astin played that dorky brother in 50 First Dates. I was suprized that he took such a role after LOTR. He also was in that TV series...something about time travel...I didn't watch it for long because it was just too silly.
However, Rudy is still one of my favorite movies of all time (we actually named our dog Rudy after the movie) so Sean Astin is always a winner in my book.

Sean Astin is in a few movies this year. Smile looks particularly good, but it looks like his role in the film isn't very big.
