I mentioned this in another thread but it is worthy of it's own.
March 27, 2005 marks the beginning of a new professional sports league. Real Pro Wrestling is just what it sounds like, REAL ATHLETES. These are the best wrestlers in the country. Olympic and Collegiate champions broken into 8 teams that will compete in an exciting and aggressive form of wrestling. I personally can't wait. The season will be run for 9 consecutive weeks on both PAX TV and Fox Sports Net. Check out the web site for details and get in on the action.

Although I know almost nothing about wrestling, I guess I'll have to start following this - if only because three of the coaches from my alma mater will be competing.
And since wrestling is something you're passionate about, Beatnix, you might be happy to know that Tom Brands has been doing a really good job of getting southwest Virginia and the Virginia Tech alumni base excited about wrestling (seriously - he an the VT team are the only reasons why I know what I do about the sport).

Tom and his Brother, Terry, were both awesome at Iowa. They are definately good spokesmen for the sport. I'm glad to hear that they have reached people who know nothing about the sport and invoked a bit of interest.

Season kick-off this Sunday at 4:00 on PAX. This is what real athletes look like. If you've never seen wrestling before you should check it out and see why wrestlers are definately some of the toughest son's o' biscuits around.
