All of you who remember the SimCity 4 problem I had. Well, I did as advised, and got this message instead of a restart.
quote:A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your compuer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable your components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advannced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Well, the only hardware I ever changed since I bought SimCity 4 (which worked perfectly well) was a new motherboard, after stupid, stupid ASUS managed to make a motherboard that instead of "clearing CMOS", you erased the BIOS.
I got the Gigabyte GA-7N400-L motherboard, with the latest drivers. It's an nForce2-400 Ultra chipset, with MCP-T; in other words, it's as good as an "ASUS" A7N8X-E DX.
So, what could possibly be the problem?!

I've got the same error during an internship due to the hyperthreading function of a motherboard. If your motherboard has it you might want to disable that from the BIOS. Tell me if it works ok afterwards.
