You know, I didn't manage to capture what I was feeling after reading my old college papers, and instead just ended up sounding like I was bragging. My bad. (Sorry, ElJay, your post isn't going to make sense now.)
Anyhow, it's just odd reading these things. I remember my whole life focused on a paper for weeks at a time, and now I barely remember writing them.

What kind of an advisor gives you an A+ because he can't understand what you wrote but it sounded good? How lazy can you get?

I3 - Already you have El Jay, Kwea and I posting here! And we're ALL hot chicks! (Well, maybe not so much El Jay. I totally wouldn't talk to her if she was hot.)
edit: You're totally in my way, Boris. Now it's not nearly as funny.

So do you think dkw is gonna be giving you a wedgie then, or Bob? 'Cause I gotta tell you, I'm just not seeing it either way.

While I know he's gentle as a lamb, Bob looks like he has the solid gripping action of a thousand latex polymers. And considering his height, it would be natural to simply lift. And consequently separate.
My cheeks and I don't want to take that chance.
edit:
quote:Really Kwea? For some reason I thought you were a girl...
See, the joke is that she's a he. But thinking he's a she just makes it better.

I nagged my husband into finally throwing out his old college notes last year. He's been out of college for several years, and in my mind there was no reason to have an entire box of old papers that served no use. I promptly threw away my notes after each class was finished, as well as my papers.
This semester I'm taking my English comps, which include an essay and a big exam. I asked my advisor how to study, and she replied, "Oh, just look through all your lit class notes."

Heh. I put up many of my old college papers on my web site. Dang it, I put a lot of work into those. They must surely count for something!

Space Opera -- see, I've been out of school for more than 10 years now, and I'm still holding onto my old school notes and papers just in case something like that ever happened. I mean, I doubt I'll ever ever ever want to go back to school (I didn't like academia much)... but I was a good notetaker, and so I can't throw away all that old stuff, just in case...

I don't think I saved a single thing from my time at college, with the exception of some poetry and one or two books from a lit class that I unexpectedly enjoyed.
