I have wanted to take my daughter to this for years. Santa came through with some tickets. (Last year we went to "Cats.") It was a fabulous mother-daughter day, and I went all the way to Boston and back by myself. (though I am beyond tired now)
It was absolutely beautiful. The set and costumes were simply amazing.
The music was, well, OK. It did not have that Andrew Lloyd Weber gut-wrench that I love, but I did enjoy the African chant style songs very much.
I did have a brief incident with a haughty bee-y**ch, who asked me if those were my seats, and then asked if I was "quite sure" those were my seats? My daughter told me to "let it go, Mom," and I did. It took me until Act 2, but I did let it go. Needless to say, we will be saying "quite sure" for years to come.
