If anyone has been to SomethingAwful.com - they may have noticed that they have this thing called 'Photoshop Phriday', where they choose a subject and everyone sends in their beautifully messed up and hilarious works of art that meet the subject criteria - Well for the wonderful forum of Books, Films, Food and (not just American) Culture- I bring the Poem Pot Phriday! Where we do exactly the same thing!.. just.. with poems.. see?
This Phriday's Topic for Poems issss:
-/-\-/-\-( President Bush )-/-\-/-\-
Don't post your poem till Phriday! The winner chooses the next week's topic!
Winner goes to the popular consensus- if there isn't one, i'll choose. And if there's too much pressure by making it sound like a contest, we can drop that idea. You got a day to prepare a poem- it can be as stupid or short or long or as intricate as you want.- late poems are acceptable. Try to stay on topic.

George W. Bush If he were on fire he'd be a Burning Bush. If he were an aborigine, he'd be a Bush-man. If he was worth one bird in the hand he'd be Two in the Bush. If he were a Japanese warrior code, he'd be Bushido. If he were a beer company, he'd be Anheuser-Busch. It's tiring coming up with these joke about our President's name-- I'm bushed!

There's something stale in his eyes -- not hard, not wicked, not particularly sly, just halfway dead from the strain of a smile without smirking, from keeping his thumb from tucking under his belt, cowboy-style, and trying hard to not look absolutely numb.
Numb, not dumb: you can see each thought as it passes through his ears, so it's crystal clear that he has them; dumb he's not.

Didn't everyone's grandmother quote that poem to them as a child? No? Okay, I'll go back in my cave, then.
