...but is it legal to post links here so that people can listen? I'm actually unclear on the legality of doing covers at all. I mean, I'm not selling them or anything, I recorded them purely for my own enjoyment, and thought I might share them if anyone was interested. However, if it isn't legal and/or if it violates the posting guidelines, then obviously I won't do it.
Anyone care to tell me what the rules are?

It's probably better to ask people if they'd like you to e-mail them the link, instead; that's just my take on it, but I don't think posting here would be the smartest thing to do.

No, but Canadian law does. Not that I know what the Canadian law is. I suppose I could try to find out.

You've already got the biggest email in the history of the universe. Are you sure you want more?

Email sent. [Edit 2: So, everyone who has posted in this thread requesting one, YGM. Also, I think I'm going to make this my first mayfly thread. (Maybe.) It might not live past tomorrow night. I have never deleted posts before, but there's no time like the present to start. ]
Edit 1: And I'm about halfway through uploading my cover of Under the Bridge. Tears in Heaven is already up, along with some other, more robust stuff.
This whole thing was brought on by me *finally* recording a cover of Hurt tonight, which I've been meaning to do for... well, ever since I decided I wanted to do this cover project, which was last October. So a long time. It was most satisfying to get it done.

I also prefer your originals but I think that Tears in Heaven is the best of this bunch though Push is up there.

I spent a lot more time on the originals than I did on these. Idolatry was very personal because I was trying to impress my father; this is just a fun project.

I said that I preferred your originals, not that I preferred them to your versions of these songs.
Have you listened to any Vast? A couple of songs off their album Nude seem to me to be kinda your "style," particularly I Can't Say No (To You) for some reason. *shrug*

I think I prefer some the lyrical mistakes (?) made in Under the Bridge to the original. Tears in Heaven is my favorite, though.

twinky, can you send me ane email with the link. If the covers are half as good as the tunes on Idolatry, they'll be amazing.

Mack, no, I can't, because not only is your address not in your profile, you have disabled the "email user" button. So as it stands, there is no way for me to email you unless I guess that admin at your domain would arrive at the right location.

The next step on that score is to learn to play and sing it at the same time. That'll be a mighty big step.

You've got good taste in music. Clapton is one of my favorite guitar players. I love his solo work as well as the work he did with the various bands he was in. I think my favorite song is Layla.
