I'm frustrated cause I LIVE here and I can't freed up to go. My boss' mother passed away on Weds, the funeral was yesterday and I've got to go sit shiva tomorrow (something I've never done before but I'm told it's similar to a wake without a viewing), which means that ALL my normal Friday through Sunday activites get scrunched into one day - today =(

Well, there's one at least marginally good thing about it, I suppose.... since I'm busting a hump to get the housework done today, I won't have anything hanging over my head when I get home from the shiva and can stitch to my heart's content. =)

Goody, you will not be sitting shiva; your boss (and other immediate relatives of the deceased) will be. You will be making a shiva call. I don't know how religious your boss is, but I am Orthodox, and in my experience, standard visits last about 30 minutes to an hour. Protocol is that the mourner cannot greet you; however you may greet him. It is usual to let the mourner talk about the deceased (or whatever else he wishes), and just direct the conversation as much as possible.
If you can possibly visit us Kamaconners tomorrow afternoon, that would be great. Maybe?
