I think this has already been discussed on the other side of the forum in the past. I'm trying to remember the general consensus of thought there. Let me see if I can find the link...

Bugger means someone who engages in buggery...
"'bugger' derives from Bulgaria and the Bogomils. These were originally a heretic Christian sect who were stigmatised as sodomites. Section twelve of the UK 1956 sexual offences act refers to buggery. According to this, buggery is sexual intercourse between males or between male and female in an 'unnatural manner', or between male or female with an animal in any manner whatsoever." Basically, it's for sure not a term of enderment towards children Or at least it wasn't when I was in England. Maybe they've "americanized".
I hope this is an acceptable thing to post... the way I had it "worded" in my head for sure wasn't, so I did a quick search. Please tell me if I should edit it down more or take it out completely
